Products are either:
-
An individual product (e.g. a loaf of bread) that could be sold as an add on or within a box
-
Or a Core Item (e.g. Large Veg Box). Core items are set up as products and every customer must have at least one core item (see Box Types section)
-
-
Within products, you have the ability to order by the following hierarchy:
-
Flagship (highest priority): These show up first in the category in alphabetical order; also puts the product into the sample of products that people see as they go through the sign up process - during the sign up process the customer is directed to choose their core box plus a sample of add on products (the flagship products only)
-
High Profile (next highest priority after flagship)
-
Normal Products (lowest priority)
-
Crew Only: these will not show on the public facing website or the customer's dashboard. Only crew can see crew only items. The crew can add them to a customer order on the customer's behalf, in which case the customer will see it listed in their order on their dashboard. Making a product crew only doesn’t remove the product from a customer’s order. If you want to do that then untick the Active box.
-
Steps - Creating Products
-
In Crew Dashboard, go to Products -> Product Overview -> Add Product
-
Edit the fields as follows:
- Name: Name of product (e.g. Salad Bag - Mixed Leaves)
- Active: Tick this box to make this product show up on the website
- If you deactivate a product by unticking the Active box (because you no longer have it) a new drop down beneath this tick box will show up titled “Replacement Product”. If customers are subscribed to this product:
- And you select a replacement (e.g. from Salad Bag - Summer Mix to Salad Bag - Winter Mix), this switch to their subscription will happen automatically
- If you don’t select a replacement product, the product will drop off the customer’s subscription. N.B. when you go back to re-activating this product, it won’t add it back to their subscription (customer may have started getting something else)
- If you deactivate a product by unticking the Active box (because you no longer have it) a new drop down beneath this tick box will show up titled “Replacement Product”. If customers are subscribed to this product:
- Short Name & Label Name: A shortened name for the label (e.g Salad Bag)
- Label Colour: Most hubs leave label colour
- URL Name: This will be autofilled
- Unit Amount: Enter the unit amount, either ea or by weight
- Category: Choose the category you want this product to sit in
- Price: Set the price selling price
- Product Type: section from dropdown (if a core item, select: Core Item; if an individual product, select: Add On)
- Requires Refrigeration & Is Packed Fresh Daily: are similar in what they achieve: they both assume a product is not packed directly into the customer’s box but instead packed separately into the customer’s order by the driver, the distinction being:
- Requires Refrigeration: these products will be in a cool box (a snowflake will appear on the customer label and the item will be highlighted blue on the driver’s run sheet)
- Is Packed Fresh Daily: these will ordinarily be baked products or eggs, stored in a separate tray/box in the driver’s van, to avoid damage (a bread icon will appear on the customer label and the item will be highlighted yellow on the driver’s run sheet). This must be ticked if you want the item to show on the driver’s run sheet
- Product Delivery Method: Always select Via Subscription (The dropdown is redundant)
- Product Visibility: select from dropdown (definitions in Overview above)
- Order Visibility: select from dropdown to choose if the product should be in an advance orders list only, regular order only list or on on all orders. This is only relevant if an advance order is set up and active See Advanced Orders
