In Ooooby you can create multiple delivery areas for different drivers to deliver to, as well as drop site for customers to pick up their orders from
Notes
A delivery area:
- Is a zone which a set driver delivers to
- Before creating a delivery area, it is necessary to enter into the system a start and end point for the driver (this is usually the hub address which will have been entered into the system during onboarding; if you have alternative start or end points, follow step 2 below)
- Before creating a delivery area, it is recommended to enter into the system the name of the delivery driver (follow steps in "Adding Customers" section
A drop site is:
- An address at which multiple customers can pick up their orders from
- You can set a drop site to be private so that only certain customers can view and therefore pick up from this drop site
- Before creating a drop site, it is necessary to enter into the system the address that will be the drop site (see below step 2)
Steps - Adding Delivery Area & Drop Site Names
-
In Crew Dashboard, go to Deliveries > Customer Area Mapping
-
At the bottom of the page insert the following into the blank fields:
-
- Name: Name of delivery area (e.g. Thursday 1) or drop site
- Area Code: Give the delivery area (e.g. TH1) or drop site a 3 letter code
Click Create Area (this delivery area or drop site will now be viewable & editable in Delivery Group Management (see next steps)
Steps - Editing Delivery Areas & Drop Sites
-
In Crew Dashboard, go to Deliveries > Delivery Group Management
-
Click edit for the delivery area or drop site you want to edit and insert the following into the blank fields:
- Name: This was created in step 2 above
- Delivery Area Code: This was created in step 2 above
- Delivery Day: This depends on whether you have multiple delivery days and if so whether you will have a single order cut-off for all days of that week, or different order cut-offs for the different delivery days.
- If you have a single delivery day then select the day on which the deliveries to this delivery area will be delivered
- If you have multiple delivery days but one order cut-off, then select the first delivery day of the week for all delivery runs.
- If you have multiple delivery days and multiple order cut-offs, then select the day on which the deliveries to this delivery area will be delivered
- Delivery Delay (Days): This is only applicable if you have multiple delivery days but one order cut-off. If deliveries to this delivery area (or drop site) are on the first delivery day of that week then the delivery delay should be kept to zero; if deliveries to this delivery area (or drop site) are to be delivered on the second delivery day of that week then (or more specifically a day after the event day), set Delivery Delay to 1. (i.e, one day after the first delivery day) or set the Delivery Delay to 2 if it's two days after the first delivery day.
- Packing Delay (Days): These should typically be set to match the delivery delays.
- Packing Priority: This is the order that you want to pack each route across all days that you deliver on (set to 1, 2, 3, etc)
- Driver:
- For Delivery Areas: Select the driver that will be making the deliveries (N.B the driver will need to have been set up as a customer within the system before you can do this)
- For Drop Sites: You could select the host of the drop site or the driver that's delivering to the host. The reason you might put the host name instead of the driver is if you wanted to compensate the host by using the 'Wage Per Box Delivered' feature in Hub Details (which should really be 'Payment Per Box Delivered') which allocates a specified amount per delivery to whoever is in the driver field
- Label Colour: Select a label colour to make the labels easily distinguishable for the driver
- Start Address: Add start address (i.e. hub address)
- End Address: Add end address (i.e. hub address; N.N. if either the start or the end address are not the hub address, these addresses will have needed to be added to the system)
- Requires Printout: Tick this box
- Is Drop Site: Tick if this is a drop site
- Access Code: Include an access code if you want the drop site to remain private. Only people with the access code will be able to select this drop site
- Drop Site Instructions: Add customer instructions if it is a drop site (i.e. your box will be in the shed at the back of the house)
